For our next instalment of the Gage Roads Summer Surf Coast series we catch up with another beloved Torquay local and total shredder Isabell Cook. We’re down in Anglesea after a day of hunting novelty waves during a surprise monster swell and its been non-stop smiles and stylish carves from this ocean loving cruiser.

We finally caught up with Jesse after a long while between drinks and asked him a few questions about the recent Cyclone Uesi swell and about the vibe around the Goldy during times like this. Jesse is legend to the Goldy and is currently making the slow transition to video after perfecting his craft with photography. Continuing our Gage Roads Summer Surf Coast series we get down and dirty in Marcus Hyett’s shaping shed to hear about growing up in the wildest parts of Victoria, learning to shape from one of the greats, and an unbreakable connection with the ocean that’s led to a career making surfboards. Marcus is a young shaper from Torquay who we also featured last year at our sold out Behind The Shaper event in Melbourne. 

Next up in our Gage Roads Summer Surf Coast series we chat to long-time local, Winki charger, and respected shaper, Michael Van Der Klooster… AKA Vanda. We’re catching up in his new big ass ‘factory’ behind Torquay Bunnings. Last time we saw him he was operating out of a backyard shaping bay. The new factory seems about five times bigger isn’t just a shaping shed but also a retail outlet for all things surf.
