Camille Robiou du Pont is a french born photographer and filmmaker. She has been based in Asia for the last 8 years and found her home on a small island in the Philippines since 2016. She has always been fascinated about women and their relationship with the ocean, and how it helps them to highlight female’s confidence, beauty and freedom. Enjoy our full interview with Camille below.

Fiona Peters. Long time friend of SV, originally from the South Coast of Sydney, before moving to Lakes Entrance then the Surf Coast for a full time role with Quiksilver. Fiona is now based out of Bali most of the time (jealous) as a freelance photographer. With the endless supply of quality waves around Indo and exotic shooting locations - who can blame her.  We asked Fiona a few questions about her favourite waves in Indo, story behind the female subjects in her work and recent surf injuries.

Our next interview is with Hannah Anderson - a finalist in our 2019 photo comp. Hannah is a huge talent who shoots both video and photo mediums. Hannah grew up in Bondi and studied journalism at Uni, before securing an internship at Tracks Mag. It was here, her passion for photography was born. We were lucky enough to ask Hannah a few questions about her recent travels and female inspirations, while also touching on a recent professional highlight trip to Nazare.

Tracy Naughton is an artist and photographer originally from NZ but has called the Sunshine Coast home for over 15 years.  Having fallen in love with the natural beauty of the coastal lifestyle Tracy has developed her own signature style well recognised amongst locals. She regularly holds exhibitions and loves to collaborate on all sorts of creative projects. Enjoy the full interview here.

Hannah Prewitt - originally from the UK, Hannah travelled the world for many years as a marine biologist. She’s now a freelance photographer based on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. She also loves to create unique fine art images of the ocean that capture the emotion of the viewer and takes them to a calm and peaceful place. Enjoy the full interview here.

Sean Evans, founder of WaterWorkMedia. Sean picked up his first camera in 2011. He began using it as a training tool to document himself and a few buddies while on surf adventures. By 2014 he found himself shooting more and surfing less…. a lot less. In 2015 he landed one of the biggest gigs yet. The lead photographer for the International Surfing Association. This brought him further around the world, introducing more and more cultures.

Sitting aboard the Jan Juc cliffs overlooking Bird Rock where many birds sit, colours of euphoria, colours of orange and red slide past my eyes, and you’d wonder what it would tend to be. Is the sun setting in the beautiful late evening sky, has a bush-walker wiped my sight, or maybe just maybe I’ve seen something amazingly spiritual and amazingly vibrant. Xavier Huxtable dances across the water on his surf-craft, slicing the pastel blue water into that of an oozing substance.

Our next interview is with our good friend Brydie Watson. Brydes is an all time legend, having been a regular contributor to SV for years - including a spread inside Issue 3. We asked Brydes a few questions about life in Melbourne, recent road trip to South Aus, her experience at Kangaroo Island after the bushfires and also about women's surf culture. A great read.

Shayne Nienaber is a professional freelance photographer on the Gold Coast, Australia, with a style consisting of creative and energetic imagery. Shayne has travelled much of the world with camera in hand, capturing some of the most epic high performance surf images as seen in Surfing Life Mag, Swellnet and a South African surf mag, ZigZag (just to name a few). We asked Shayne some questions about his recent stint at the Macaronis Surf Resort in the Ments as well as his first experience at the URBNSURF lagoon in Melbourne.

 

Our next interview is with Amy Markham (Amy Pearl Photo), another Gold Coast local. Residing in Currumbin, the ocean has played a huge role in Amy's life and is expressed through the images she captures. Amy has been a contributor to Surf Visuals in the past, being one of the female only contingent of photographers who have a Surf Visuals mag cover (Issue 2). We love her work - so it was an honour to ask her a few questions about life on the Goldy, family, surfing and plenty more.  Enjoy.

2019 PHOTO COMP WINNER: Meet the winner of the Tee Pee Surf 'PEOPLE' category - Ryan Hill. Born and raised in South Africa, now living on the Central Coast of Cali, Ryan's career has seen him work with some of the biggest brands and labels in the world including The North Face, AirBnB and Fitbit just to name a few. His camera has taken him all over the world, with his latest adventure to remote Alaska for a cold water surf trip to score some of the better waves he's ever seen. With a vicious rumour circulating that Ryan will have feature in SV Issue 4 - we can't wait to show you what he's been cooking up.

 

Eden Pogonoski - 21 years of age and residing between the lush green escarpment and some of the most pristine beaches in Wollongong. Unfortunately for some close by who have endured hard times due to the recent bushfires, life is not so great. For anyone looking to help out the bushfire affected south coast, you should spend some time and money down there and help rebuild these communities. 

Our next interview is with Gold Coast local Josh Bystrom. With covers and features in Surfing Life mag, Australian Geographic, Surfline, Swellnet and Surfing World (just to name a few) - this dude is a real talent. We asked the man himself some questions about these recent covers as a career highlight, travel and of course the recent Cyclone Uesi Swell on the Goldy. Enjoy some images featuring icons Kelly and Joel Parko. 

We were lucky enough to ask WSL favourite Ryan Miller AKA Bad Boy Ry Ry a few questions about life on the tour, mixing with the best in the industry and being on the road for 220 days of the year. Bad Boy also gives some sound advice to any up and coming photographers out there. A must read.
