In-between by Dom Meler

My name is Dom and I live in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney’s south. Married with two boys, I work as a graphic designer full time. I started photography about two years ago purely as a hobby and since then it's pretty much become an obsession. I go out every weekend and on weekdays when I can.

Although at the moment it's becoming a little difficult getting in as we all know...I'm fighting between adhering to the "stay home unless absolutely necessary" message & getting out & just trying to ease my mind a little. If there's ever been a time I've really needed to duck under a wave & try to forget about what's happening on the surface, it's now. For the moment though I'm staying in. When this is all over I don't think I'll ever worry about sleeping in again.

I love shooting the in-between moments, the moments when a surfer watches the waves coming in & contemplates paddling or letting it go. watching the sun rise from the water in between a quick chat with a mate is good for the soul, it's good for the mind. Those early mornings in the water are hard to describe, hopefully my images can give people a little glimpse of what's it's like.
