Noosa Surf Festival 2018 by Brydie Watson
As a 21 year old freelance photographer, I haven’t been photographing surf & Surf culture for very long now. It was only until recently, through a close friend, that I was introduced into the fun loving world of longboarding.
There is now one thing that I know for sure. The surfing (in particularly long boarding) community is one of the most spirited, cultural, kind and loving groups of people that I have ever come across in my life.
About a month ago I was lucky enough to take a week off work and head up the coast for the Noosa Festival of Surfing. Cruising down the highway with a bag of film, boards on the roof and a convoy of my best friends was a feeling I’ll never forget.
This event is one that drawers an amazing crowd of both local and international friends into one area for a week of epic waves and unforgettable times.
Over the course of the week I was lucky enough to document the surf & culture of this event on my trusty Nikon F4 film camera. Shooting mostly black and white, these photos will forever give me a feeling of nostalgia.
So here they are, some of the best surfers and best people you will ever meet! All enjoying one of the best weeks of the year in beautiful Noosa, Australia.
