Memories by Ishbel Alderman
As a 22 year old freelance photographer, it’s easy to get caught up in the needs of others, shooting to capture what companies or individuals are looking for. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the sickest job travelling and shooting in exotic locations, but as with anything it’s good to take a step back and create something for yourself.
For me, capturing memories is what keeps me shooting daily: looking back at moments between friends and beautiful places reminds me to never stop exploring. Film photography has always resonated stronger with me than digital, not being able to look at the screen and waiting weeks, sometimes months until you can see the images. And that natural filter that different films creates that can’t be replicated with digi work. It was only natural that this love of analogue photography would later combine with my love for adventure and travel.
The set that follows is a series of images from across the globe, from Australia to Sri Lanka and a recent road trip along the coast of California. Moments with friends and my favourite moments captured in the water.
All the best,
Ishbel Alderman
