My Two Loves by Nuno Santos

My name is Nuno Santos, I'm from Portugal and I'm 42 years old. The love of surfing appeard when I was 13 years old, where I could spend hours in the water with my friends surfing, later on I fall in love for photography. Joining these two loves was an obvious step and I decided to acquire a waterproof box to be able to be in my element, the ocean, and next to the action, while being able to tell the stories through unique frames and leave to the imaginary of the people who see my photos to complete the story. I love to see smiles on people's faces as they surf, positive energy and camaraderie.

I started to specialise in longboard photographs and the whole lifestyle around, maybe because age also taught me to enjoy surfing differently, in a more relaxed and more attuned way with the environment and other people.

At this moment, although I do not make my life of surfing photography, I try to take advantage of all the available moments to go to the ocean and take photographs and capture different angles, to capture details, moments and unique situations that reflect what I feel when photographing.

I believe that surfing can show us a different life, more balanced and more respectful towards others and towards ourselves. Almost like a religion in which there is no god, but only a temple where we all go to leave our prayers and splinter our demons.
